Partnering for humanity

Partnering for humanity
August 24, 2012 - Employees of the Viking Automatic Sprinkler Co. St. Paul, Minn., office took a break from normal operations to participate in an event for humanity.

On August 24, 2012, several employees coordinated with APi Group Inc. to help build a Habitat for Humanity home in Fridley, Minn. The team worked on a range of projects including painting, trim installation, flooring and bathroom construction for the home.

The house is being built for a single working mother of four. It includes a special layout for one of the children who is confined to a wheelchair due to his battle with spina bifida. "It is great to work for a company that allows its employees to take a day to help others in need," said Patrick Glines, design engineer for Viking.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit housing organization dedicated to helping those with inadequate living conditions by welcoming community members to volunteer their time and effort to build and repair homes using largely donated materials. The organization has served more than two million people worldwide, building more than 500,000 houses since 1976. To learn more about Habitat for Humanity, visit their website at: www.habitat.org.
