Viking's $1.5 million-contract win

Viking's $1.5 million-contract win
November 9, 2012 - After submitting an extensive, two-volume company qualifications document and key personnel undergoing a thorough interviewing process, Viking Automatic Sprinkler Co.'s St. Paul, Minn., branch has been awarded the Target Northern Campus project by Ryan Companies.

This project is an expansion of Target Corporation's current 50-acre campus in Brooklyn Park, Minn. and is being built to support Target's growth. Target is the second-largest discount retailer in North America.

Viking is excited to be a part of such a substantial project. Sold by Viking's Senior Sales Representative, John Juntilla, the $1.5 million expansion project, will encompass two eight-story office towers with large mechanical penthouses, a fire pump, four standpipes and double-interlocked preaction systems. There will be an executive parking area with a dry system and a detached parking ramp with seven manual dry standpipes. A large addition to an existing building will house a new auditorium, dining area and building ops space. There will also be a renovation of an existing dining space. The existing building will be occupied throughout the length of the expansion project.

The installation is schedule to begin in January of 2013.
